Narcotics worth Almost R10k Seized and Four Handcuffed In Vosloorus and Katlehong
An anti-drug operation by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department’s (EMPD) resulted in the arrest of four suspects and confiscated narcotics worth almost R10K in Vosloorus and Katlehong.
Officers patrolling the Vumbuka informal settlement in Vosloorus area stopped and searched a 27-year-old suspicious female and uncovered 12x paper wrapped khat and 20x knotted plastics of nyaope valued at R3 200. The woman who was detained at the Vosloorus Police Station also ad R487 in cash.
Three other suspects aged (32), (50) and (56) years were rounded up at Likole Section in Katlehong.
EMPD Spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said from the three, officers uncovered and confiscated 40x ziplocks and 1x plastic pack of loose dagga, 3x small and medium ziplocks of crystal meth, 19x ziplocks of khat, 19x half and full mandrax tablets, 11x knotted plastics of nyaope valued at R7 500 and R2 560 cash.
The trio was detained at Katlehong police station.
All the arrested offenders facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance are expected to appear in the Vosloorus and Palmridge Magistrate’s Courts soon.
