Onlooker Caught with Narcotics During 21-Day Lockdown

While EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members were foot patrolling the streets of Tsakane with other law enforcers an onlooker was arrested for possession of illicit substance.

This happened on Thursday, 2 April, at around 13h20 in Mohaesi Street during the COVID-19 lockdown operation. A suspicious-looking male onlooker was stopped and searched and found to have narcotics on his person. He was in possession of five pieces of rock and 10 x knotted platic containing nyaope valued at R500.

The 34-year-old was handcuffed and marched to Tsakane police station and charged with possession of illicit substance and will appear in court soon.
