R45k Worth of Narcotics Seized in Boksburg
Narcotics worth around R45 000 were found on a male suspect on 24 November, who was subsequently arrested by Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit.
This was during a crime prevention and narcotics operation, when officers approached a suspicious looking male idling on 1st Street, Boksburg. The 32-year-old suspect was arrested after officers uncovered and seized 102 mandrax tablets, two plastic packets containing crystal meth substance, a large plastic pack and 30 Ziploc bags of khat valued at R45 000, with R120 cash believed to be proceeds collected unfairly.
Acting EMPD Spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng says the anti-drugs team escorted the alleged drug peddler to Boksburg north police station who faces charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance. He will appear in court soon.
