RECOVERED HI-JACKED VEHICLES AND SUSPECTS APPREHENDED

KATLEHONG – On Wednesday 18 September 2024 between 14:00 and 23:00, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Community Liaison Unit (CLU) arrested two (2) hijacking suspects in Katlehong.

Following an investigation into hijackings in the area, officers received a tip off on the whereabouts of one suspect who is involved in this crime. Officers proceeded to Buyafuthi hostel, where a male suspect was found in possession of a reported hijacked white Toyota Mini Bus, which had already been stripped.

The suspect was cooperative and voluntarily showed the Officers the whereabouts of his accomplice who was found in possession of a reported stolen white Toyota Legend pick up.

The two are facing charges of possession of stolen property and they will be appearing at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s court soon.
