School Laptop And Narcotics Uncovered

A couple was arrested for possession of narcotics and a laptop registered to a Gauteng public school in Germiston on 19 March.

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said the two, aged 42 and 49, could not account for the laptop that had a tag from the Gauteng Department of Education.

They also were in possession of 92 knotted plastics of nyaope, seven quarter and half mandrax tablets, 13 rocks and 21 paper wrapped dagga valued at R5 650, and R570 cash believed to be proceeds accumulated wrongfully.

The duo facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance and possession of suspected stolen state property were detained at the Germiston Police Station.

The couple is expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
