The EMPD Receives New Fleet
This week started on a good note for the EMPD precincts, Specialised and By-Laws units when they received 28 new motor vehicles to add to their fleet.
Chief of Police Isaac Mapiyeye and his management team were on hand when 13 Isuzu Light Delivery Vehicles (LDVs) and 15 VW Polo sedans were handed over to Metro Police officers.
“This fleet will be utilised for attending crash/accident sites, rapid deployment to crime scenes, enforcing of municipal by-laws, visible policing and serving our communities at large, amongst others,” said the Chief.
The new fleet is welcomed with the added wheeling coming in at the right time and will go a long way in also enforcing COVID-19 lockdown regulations in and around the City of Ekurhuleni.
