Tip Off Leads to Successful Arrest of Copper Cable Thieves in Benoni

Swift action of law enforcers led to a successful arrest of copper cable thieves in Benoni on Tuesday, 6 April. 

Two suspects, a South African citizen and a Mozambican national, were caught in the act of stealing copper cables at Voortrekker Bridge in Benoni.

The suspects were caught with 2m x 185mm square and three core CU PILC copper cable 11kv. They used a hacksaw that was booked as exhibit with Benoni SAPS. 

The value of the stolen copper cable is worth over R22 000 and both suspects were detained at the Benoni police station.
