Two Arrested for Money Laundering
EMPD officers apprehended two men, aged 45 and 47, on allegations of money laundering on Wednesday, 29 July.
The arrests were made during routine law enforcement when the vehicle in which the two suspects were travelling was stopped. When the officer asked for the driver’s licence, he saw a black plastic bag and asked what was in it. The suspect told the officer it contained money from the vehicle he had allegedly just sold.
Over R91 000 in the bag was seized and the suspects were arrested on charges of money laundering and will appear in court soon.
