CITY HOSTS LEARNERS FOR WATER SAVING LESSONS AND PRESERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES TO START WATER WEEK

The City of Ekurhuleni kick-started the commemoration of the National Water Week by hosting Grade 6 learners at OR Tambo Cultural Precinct in Wattville on Tuesday, 19 March. The learners, from Ekukhanyeni Primary School, were reminded of how water is central to life, preservation of the ecosystem and water cycle.

The key messages to the learners were, among others, preserving water and wetlands, as well as good use of the sewer system.

The learners are expected to take these messages to their communities and become activists for change in handling natural resources.
