OVER 6 000 RESIDENTS ASSISTED THROUGH THE CITY’S NEW WHATSAPP LINE
GERMISTON – The City of Ekurhuleni’s newly launched Siyakhokha WhatsApp Business Channel is yielding positive results, with almost 7 000 residents already benefitting from using the application since its launch last month.
“With WhatsApp Business, we are now able to communicate with our customers in a fast and efficient way thus, improving our customer engagement and turnaround time to public concerns. The facility is also very strategic when it comes to providing meter management solutions,” says the city’s spokesman Zweli Dlamini.
“We are also excited to announce the end-to-end encryption for all messages sent and received on WhatsApp Business to ensure that all the communication between the city and her customers remains secure and private.”
When launching the app, the city made it clear that this WhatsApp Business will ensure that ratepayers enjoy more direct and transparent interaction with the City. From resolving account-related issues to submitting meter readings, the app provides a single platform for all your queries and concerns. Plus, you’ll be able to make payments using MasterPass, making your experience even more convenient.
The City’s Chief Information Officer Moloko Monyepao says: “We’re excited to enhance our customer service offering and provide prompt, efficient service that meets the expectations of modern consumers.”
Although the City is excited with the response of the public to the app so far, an appeal is made for more people to register and seize the opportunity for real-time communication with the municipality.
