Be the Ambassadors of Change amidst the Third Wave

The City of Ekurhuleni reiterates government’s call on residents to become ambassadors of change by adhering to the adjusted alert level 2 regulations.

This follows the announcement that Gauteng has officially entered the third wave which is evident by the recent surge in new infections due to the increasing number of social gatherings.

“The rise in COVID-19 new infections remain a cause for concern and a reminder that COVID-19 is still in our midst especially now that the province has entered the third wave.

The best way to reduce community transmission of the coronavirus is adherence to non-pharmaceutical interventions,” said the MMC for Health and Social Services Cllr Nomadlozi Nkosi.

The MMC stressed further that communities should avoid closed and crowed spaces, and practice social distancing always.

Cllr Nkosi further commended residents who have been vaccinated for COVID 19, stating that this was the right step towards keeping the community safe and healthy.
