Clinics Attend To All Patients, Whilst Accommodating Reduced Number in Waiting Areas

CLinics attend to all patients 2The City of Ekurhuleni wishes to inform residents that due to Covid-19 restrictions, only 50 percent of clinic’s capacity is allowed to be inside the clinic at a time. Other patients are accommodated outside the clinic to ensure social distancing and other health protocols are adhered to. Ultimately all patients are attended to.

The MMC for Health and Social Services Cllr Nomadlozi Nkosi pleaded with residents to be patient and understand that these measures are only temporary and are in place to safeguard the community from the pandemic.

“The safety of our residents comes first. Residents may find themselves queuing outside the facility waiting for their turn to be attended. This is simply health practitioners adhering to the COVID-19 regulations,” said MMC Nkosi.

The MMC further stated that elderly and frail clients are attended and prioritized in line with Ideal Clinic Realization and Maintenance model.

Health practitioners work around the clock to ensure that the waiting times are minimal.

To ensure the capacity regulation is adhered to and lessen patient waiting times, residents are requested to visit the health facility on the date of their next appointment given by the health practitioners.

Field workers at the facilities give health education every morning and update clients on waiting times and arrangements throughout the day.
