COVID-19 and General Screening Continues

The fight to reduce the spread of coronavirus continues, with the ward-based intervention team conducting screening, public education and awareness across Ekurhuleni.

Consisting of the City officials, Gauteng Department of Cooperate Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), and Aurum Institute the team is conducting door-to-door interactions with the community and reiterating the importance of wearing a mask, hand hygiene and practicing social distancing.

Member of Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Health and Social Development Cllr Nomadlozi Nkosi encouraged residents to cooperate with the healthcare workers and do their part by adhering to the Covid-19 regulations.

“Healthcare workers are on the ground to ensure we fight against new infections. As a community member you can do your part by obeying the Covid-19 protocols and answer all asked questions truthfully when screened to make sure you get the right help,” said the MMC.

The ward-based team members will provide screening, testing and community awareness and education in the following areas:
