COVID-19 Screening and Testing Continue in Alberton

The coordinated fight against the spread of Covid-19 led collaboratively by the City of Ekurhuleni with Gauteng Provincial Government continue to make strides.

The team comprising of officials from the two institutions is conducting ward-based screening and testing across the City. Altogether, the team screened 1 000 and tested 83 people for Covid-19 on Wednesday, 12 August at Thinasonke in Alberton.

None-adherence to the regulations was a concern identified by the health workers.

“People know what they should do to curb the spread of the Covid-19 but they do not do it. We hope by these intensified door-to-door campaigns, there will be a change of behaviour that will help us all,” Gauteng Health Ekurhuleni District Manager, Terrance Magoro said.

During these screening and testing crusades, the health workers screen the residents for other health conditions such as HIV and TB.

The team will continue to work in Alberton until Saturday, 15 August.
