Disinfect Bins and Wash Hands to Curb COVID-19

The City urges residents to wear gloves, wash their hands, and disinfect their bins to curb the spread of the Corona virus.

Waste collectors handle many bins on a daily basis. The gloves they wear are for personal protection, and are therefore not regularly changed.  Should one bin be contaminated, other bins handled thereafter may be contaminated.

Customers are urged to take precautionary measures, such as washing hands, wearing gloves, and disinfecting the bins to prevent contracting infections that may be caused by the multiple contacts waste collectors have with many bins.
