Ekurhuleni Elderly Citizens Delight In the Vaccine Rollout

“I am really happy to receive the vaccine today to strengthen my immunity. My husband and I haven’t seen my grandchildren ever since the pandemic and the rollout today gives us hope that this too shall pass”.

Those are the words shared by Alberton resident Sussan Windell (69) who visited the Kobie Muller Hall at the Bertha Gxowa Hospital to receive her COVID19 inoculation.

Sussan who was accompanied by her husband of 50 years, is amongst the first residents to receive their COVID19 vaccine at one of the six vaccination sites launched in Ekurhuleni on Monday, 17 May.  

Healthcare workers and residents who are 60 years or older are encouraged to register for the vaccine using any of the methods listed below:

1. online at www.vaccine.enroll.gov.za

2. using the whatsapp line 0600 123456

3. by SMS- dial *134*832#

4. call the COVID-19 hotline 0800 029 999

5. You can use the new QR- simply scan and follow the prompts. The QR code will be published widely and can be found on sacoronavirus website or the National Department of Health Website. For more information, contact the hotline on 0800 029 999.
