EKURHULENI TO LAUNCH MEAT SAFETY CAMPAIGN TO PREVENT FOOD-BORNE DISEASE OUTBREAKS

The City of Ekurhuleni is launching a meat safety campaign to prevent food-borne disease outbreaks caused by poor handling of meat products through the education of communities. The launch will be on Wednesday, 8 June, and followed by other campaign activations on 9 and 10 June.

Environmental health practitioners will, as part of the campaign, visit various food handling premises across the City to reinforce meat handling regulations through education and awareness.

The campaign strengthens the activities already undertaken by the city’s environmental health practitioners through monthly regulatory compliance blitzes.

The campaign will be held under the theme: Safer food, better health.
