Health Professionals Get Vaccinated – Protecting Themselves and Others
Meet professional nurse Zakhele Sibanyoni who took the first step towards protecting himself and others by getting his COVID-19 inoculation at the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital on 31 March 2021.
Sibanyoni, who serves the residents at the Kempton Park Customer Care Centre Clinic, was happy to be next in line to receive his jab.
“I am really over the moon to have received the vaccine, I have seen the devastating effects of COVID-19 and really did not want to be a statistic,” he said.
After getting the jab, an elated Sibanyoni also went through a refresher course on how to administer the vaccine.
He is one of the many professional nurses expected to be at the forefront of inoculating Ekurhuleni residents when government rolls out the second phase of the vaccination programme for all citizens.
Currently, the country is on the first phase where the vaccine is being administered to all health care workers.
