Phola Park Receives Digital Chest X-Ray Machine

The Phola Park Community Health Centre in Thokoza received a health injection when Isibani Development Partners donated a mobile chest X-ray machine recently.

In fact, this is the second donation to be made by Isibani Development; the other X-ray machine went to Esangweni Community Health Centre in Thembisa.

Phola Park Community Health Community Health Centre Facility Manager Sister Nothemba Moepya said the donation of the digital chest X-ray mobile machine had come at a time when reducing traffic to hospitals is paramount due to COVID-19.

“The X-ray machine service will also reduce the burden at hospitals in terms of referrals from the clinics. This will help in making sure patients are diagnosed in reasonable time and are able to commence with their treatment early,” Moepya said.

Lerato Moloi, a resident of Thokoza, also expressed gratitude for the newly donated equipment.

“I am very happy to have this service which has saved me travelling time and money because previously the nearest hospital that offers X-ray services required me to take two taxis – now I just walk to the clinic,” she said excitedly.

Even though the donations were made to the two health centres, the X-ray machines will move around in a mobile container to offer x-ray services to other areas in Ekurhuleni.
