Visually Impaired Oupa Letsholo Is A New Home Owner
The days of staying in a dilapidated corrugated iron shack for Oupa Letsholo from Eden Park are now a thing of the past.
Letsholo (34) is visually impaired and was staying alone in a dilapidated shack, surviving with the assistance of his kind neighbours.
The City’s Department of Human Settlements and its stakeholder Afribiz Invest handed over a fully furnished four-roomed house, with running water and electricity, to Letsholo.
“Today feels like my birthday. I’m so happy and grateful to all who came to my rescue. I have endured the suffering of staying in a leaking shack alone for a long time. Thank you,” said the elated Letsholo.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Human Settlements Cllr Lesiba Mpya thanked the stakeholders for the wonderful work they did to speedily intervene in Oupa’s situation, in partnership with the City. MMC further requested the neighbours to continue to take care of Oupa and live in harmony with him.
