CITY ROLLS OUT IDP TALKS WITH COMMUNITIES
The City has reaffirmed its commitment to a sustainable development and improved service delivery through the ongoing Integrated Development Plan (IDP) community meetings taking places in various areas of the City.
The IDP is a comprehensive planning process that involves the entire municipality, including citizens, officials, and councillors, in identifying the most effective long-term solutions for local development. It is aimed at improving the quality of life for all residents by ensuring that planning across various government departments is streamlined and aligned.
Once adopted, all municipal planning and projects are required to align with the IDP, and the annual council budget is based on the priority projects identified in the plan. The IDP spans five years, aligning with the term of office for elected local councillors, and is reviewed annually to respond to changing circumstances and community needs.
The community is invited to take part in the community consultative meetings on the draft IDP for 2025/26 and multiyear budget for 2025/26 – 2027/28, which started on 7 April and will finish on 15 April.
Closing date for comments on 22 April 2025.
