EKURHULENI RESIDENTS MAKE INPUTS TO THE IDP AND DRAFT BUDGET

The Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and draft budget consultative meetings got off to a positive start on Tuesday, 9 April, as residents flocked the meeting venues to influence the City’s budget and IDP.

DH Williams hall in Katlehong 1, Reiger Park community hall in Boksburg and Duduza multi-purpose centre housed the City’s active citizens who are concerned about their City’s future developments.

Residents such as Zuko Mayekiso from Duduza are pleased with the opportunity to make inputs and comment on the 2024/25 IDP and draft 2024/25 – 2026/27 municipal budget.

Whilst each area will be presented with different plans tailored for their respective areas, residents such as Zuko Mayekiso from Ward 98 in Duduza are encouraged to give feedback and make comments on the draft budget.

During the meeting, Mayekiso said: “Service delivery is mandatory, and on top of that the City needs to prioritise the development of agricultural projects and improve unskilled labour force through the development of a skills centre in Duduza.”

Residents who might have missed the meetings in their areas can still influence the plans for their areas by viewing the draft IDP and budget documents on the City of Ekurhuleni’s website www.ekurhuleni.gov.za.
