A CITY COMMITTED TO GOOD GOVERNANCE
“Good governance is the foundation upon which all progress is built. If we fail in governance, we fail in service delivery” – has warned Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Alderman Nkosindiphile Xhakaza.
Speaking in council, Xhakaza said: “We must lead with integrity, hold ourselves accountable, and ensure that every decision we take benefits the people of Ekurhuleni.”
The first citizen committed the current administration to:
- Strengthening anti-corruption measures to root out fraud, nepotism, and maladministration;
- Enhancing community engagement, ensuring that residents have a voice in municipal decisions;
- Improving responsiveness of municipal departments, cutting red tape and accelerating service delivery; and
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for senior officials, ensuring that every leader is accountable for their responsibilities.
“As we navigate the evolving financial landscape of our city, we remain committed to prudent fiscal management, ensuring that our resources are optimally allocated to drive service delivery, infrastructure development, and economic growth,” he points out.
