EKURHULENI EXECUTIVE MAYOR AND MMCs VISIT THEMBISA

Today (Friday, 5 May 2023) the executive leadership in the City of Ekurhuleni led by Mayor Sivuyile Ngodwana criss-crossed the township of Thembisa as part of the Mayoral Outreach Programme.

The oversight visit is conducted in an effort to improve service delivery in some of the City’s most neglected areas.

Executive Mayor has begun implementing what he vowed to do during his first State of The City Address last month. Among his plans, he promised to lead a government that listens, cares and delivers services to its people.

Thembisa saw a team of MMCs led by the Mayor conducting unexpected visits to areas battling illegal dumping, ensuring overflowing waste is attended to. The team also checked up on damaged bridges and those experiencing delayed construction, and walked the streets speaking to the residents.

The People’s Government as the current political leadership in Ekurhuleni is termed has vowed to be seen, heard and felt in the improvement of service delivery to the residents. Executive Mayor has pledged to return to Thembisa for a status update on most problematic areas which were mainly highlighted in a memorandum of grievances delivered to the previous administration. This will happen whilst the boots on the ground by the leadership continues in a bid to improve care for the people across the city.

To conclude the programme of the day, the Mayoral Committee met with community leaders to provide a way forward.
