EXECUTIVE MAYOR ALD. XHAKAZA MARKS WOMEN’S MONTH

August is Women’s Month in South Africa, and tomorrow, 9 August as we celebrate Women’s Day, the Executive Mayor Ald. Nkosindiphile Xhakaza joins the country in remembering and celebrating the resilient spirit of women who marched to the Union Buildings in 1956

This year’s commemoration is held under the theme: “Building Resilient Economies for All”. The purpose is to promote women’s participation and representation in leadership and the economy.

This is a strong call to each of us to ensure we bring about the positive change in the lives of our mothers, sisters, aunts, and daughters, from eradicating gender-based violence, to ending inequality in the workplace and many other spheres of life for women.

May we be intentional in all we do towards fostering a strong women-centred society and country at large.

Happy Women’s Day and happy Women’s Month.

Halala Mbokodo, Halala!
