EXECUTIVE MAYOR AND MMC PRETORIUS INSPECT EKURHULENI DUMP SITES
Today, myself and the MMC for Environment and Waste Management, Cllr. Brandon Pretorius have conducted several inspections at the city’s dumpsites to ascertain the progress made to clear them to stabilise waste collection and bring our sites back to a fully functional state.
Our dumpsites are currently at a 90% clearance rate, and by the end of April 2023, these sites will be 100% cleared and operational.
Officials in the city have worked tirelessly to ensure that with the passing of the adjustment budget, headway is being made to arrest the collapse of this service so that our residents can live in a clean and hygienic city.
The multi-party coalition and I would like to apologise to all our residents for the inconvenience caused by this issue.
The MMC and I, as well as our coalition partners, would like to thank City of Ekurhuleni officials who have gone beyond the call of duty to make sure that our waste management services become efficient and effective for all who live in Ekurhuleni.
