EXECUTIVE MAYOR’S EASTER MESSAGE
As we approach the sacred period of the Easter weekend, I extend my warmest greetings to all our community members who observe this meaningful time of reflection, renewal, and hope. Easter is a season that calls upon us to embrace the values of compassion, unity, and spiritual growth. It serves as a poignant reminder of sacrifice, resurrection, and the promise of new beginnings.
During this important time, many will take the opportunity to reconnect with family and friends, travel to their homelands, or participate in religious ceremonies that hold deep significance. Whether through quiet contemplation or communal celebration, the Easter weekend invites each of us to pause and renew our commitments—to ourselves, to one another, and to the shared vision of a harmonious and prosperous community.
As you embark on your journeys to various destinations, I urge everyone to prioritize safety and extreme caution. Travel conditions can be challenging during peak holiday periods, and it is crucial that we all act responsibly to ensure a safe return for ourselves and our loved ones. Be vigilant on the roads, respect traffic regulations, and look out for one another.
In addition, let us remember those who may not have the opportunity to celebrate with their families or loved ones during this season. A kind word, a helping hand, or an act of kindness can uplift spirits and strengthen the bonds within our community.
On behalf of the Executive leadership and council, I wish you a blessed Holy Week and a joyous Easter celebration. May this season of hope inspire us all to work together toward peace, reconciliation, and social renewal. Safe travels and may you return refreshed, filled with the spirit of Easter and ready to contribute positively to our collective future.
Happy Easter to all.
Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor
