HAVE YOUR SAY IN THE CITY’S BUDGET AND IDP

The City of Ekurhuleni invites public members to participate in the forthcoming Integrated Development and Planning (IDP) and Budget consultative meetings from Monday, 7 April, until 15 April.

The IDP consultation process allows members of the community to share their priorities with the municipality, which ultimately assists the institution in formulating the budget.

“Communities must appreciate the critical nature of these sessions as they are designed to ensure that they are not left behind in the planning and the allocation of funds for various projects,” explains city spokesman Zweli Dlamini, appealing to the public to honour the invite.

“If residents cannot make it to the meetings, the IDP and Budget documents are available on our website, so they can just peruse them and give feedback electronically.”

The first two sessions will take place in Alberton and Springs. The IDP meetings will be held across the city to ensure that residents from all over Ekurhuleni have a chance to make inputs and comments on the draft reviewed (IDP) for the period 2025-26 and the draft Multi-year Budget 2025/26 – 2026/2027.

Meanwhile, the draft IDP and budget documents have already been made available for viewing, comments and suggestions on these can be emailed to budgettips@ekurhuleni.gov.za.  The closing date for comments is Tuesday, 22 April 2025.
