EKURHULENI PROVIDES WATER TANKERS TO AREAS AFFECTED BY WATER OUTAGES

The City of Ekurhuleni has provided water tankers to mitigate the effects of the water outage affecting some parts of the City as a result of challenges with Rand Water’s infrastructure caused by a recent power outage.

Rand Water reported yesterday that that its Mapleton Booster Pumping Station had a power failure which resulted in a total stoppage of pumping. The City’s energy team responded to the situation only to discover that the problem is on the Eskom side of the electricity network and the power utility has informed of the developments.

In the meantime the City has dispatched water to tankers to the various areas affected by the situation. These include:

•Vosloorus

• Daveyton

•Brakpan

•Tsakane

The City urges all residents to continue using water sparingly.
