PARTS OF KEMPTON PARK WITHOUT POWER DUE TO CABLE THEFT AND VANDALISM

The city’s technicians are attending to multiple faults on power supply cables which have resulted in supply interruptions to various parts of Kempton Park.

The cause of the power supply interruption is cable theft and vandalism.

Affected areas include the following:

  • Van Riebeck Park, with an estimated restoration time of 16h00 this afternoon.
  • Birchleigh (Boekenhout Street, Moepel Street, Kokerboom Cresent and Surroundings) estimated restoration times is 23h59.
  • Terenure (Bergerivier Drive) estimated restoration time is on Wednesday, 14 May at 12h00.

Eskom has introduced stage 2 Loadshedding from 16h00 this afternoon, this may affect the set restoration times in other areas. However, the city’s technicians will work continuously untill power is restored in all affected areas. Customers are urged to switch off all non-essential electrical appliances, and treat all points of power supply as live while work is ongoing.
