POWER FAILURE AT PALMIET PUMPING STATION AFFECTS WATER SUPPLY TO GERMISTON

The City of Ekurhuleni wishes to notify customers that the Rand Water’s Palmiet Pumping Station has experienced a temporary power failure yesterday, 7 February which resulted in water supply interruption to Germiston.

Although pumping has resumed, restoration of water supply will be gradual. 

The affected areas include:

  • Klopperpark
  • Elandsfontein
  • Sunnyridge
  • Gerdview
  • Homestead
  • Wannenburghoogte
  • Sunnyrock
  • Primrose East
  • Woodmere
  • Marlands
  • Dawnview
  • Solheim

Water tankers will be dispatched to the affected areas.

Residents and businesses are urged to use water sparingly to allow the water supply system to stabilise.
