POWER SUPPLY RESTORED TO SOME PARTS OF BOKSBURG
Power supply has been restored to some of the areas that were left in darkness when the Witkoppie Substation in Boksburg caught fire in the early hours of yesterday.
The power was restored to Witfield and Yaldwyn around 15h00.
Despite this development though, work continues in earnest to fix the substation and ensure that power is fully restored to the outstanding areas which include Impala Park, Witkoppie Ridge, parts Bardene and Beyers Park. The estimated restoration time to these areas is Monday, 25 September 2023.
“While this may be the case, the city is looking at deploying more manpower and resources to deal with the outage and try and shorten the estimated restoration time,” says metro spokesman Zweli Dlamini. “We appeal for patience from the public and want to thank them for their understanding and support to the team so far.”
Residents are advised to treat electrical networks as live at all times.
The city apologizes for the inconvenience this has caused.
