RAND WATER MAINTENANCE AT MAPLETON PUMP STATION AFFECTS WATER SUPPLY TO CUSTOMERS

The City is attending to low water pressure and no water in Benoni, Daveyton, Etwatwa, Tsakane, Brakpan and Kwa-Thema, caused by Rand Water maintenance work at the Mapleton Pump Station.

Maintenance work has since been completed, and the pump station is back pumping water to the affected reservoirs and water supply is expected to stabilise in all affected areas by Sunday, 9 July, afternoon.

The affected areas are as follows:

  • Sallies Village
  • Vulcania
  • Ergo (Mkhancwa)
  • Maryvlei
  • Withok
  • Witpoortjie
  • Sun Air Park and Brenthurst
  • KwaThema
  • Tsakane all extensions
  • Langaville all extensions
  • Geluksdal all extensions
  • Labore
  • Withok
  • Morehill
  • Crystal Park
  • Hillcrest
  • Benoni AH
  • Cloverdene
  • Chief Albert Luthuli
  • Daveyton
  • Mayfield
  • Etwatwa.

The City will continue to monitor the restoration of supply and provide water tankers where necessary.
