URGENT UPDATE: POWER RESTORATION AT MAPLETON BOOSTER PUMPING STATION

The City would like to provide an update regarding the power failure at the Mapleton Booster Pumping Station on 14 April 2023, which resulted in a total stoppage of pumping and affected water supply to various areas within our municipality.

Technicians from the city, Eskom and Rand Water are working together to address the situation as a matter of urgency and the estimated power restoration time at the pumping station is 17h00 today.

Once power is restored, the pumping of water will resume, and normal water supply should gradually be restored to the affected areas as the day progresses.

The city understands the inconvenience caused by the low water pressure to no water supply during this period, and we sincerely apologise for the disruption.

In the meantime, residents are encouraged to continue using water sparingly until the situation is resolved.
