WATER SUPPLIED THROUGH WATER TANKERS IS SAFE FOR CONSUMPTION
The City of Ekurhuleni reassures residents it has maintained its clean quality supply as certified by the National Department of Water’s Blue Drop Report of 2023.
Currently, the bulk water supplier, Rand Water, is conducting major repairs to its supply infrastructure, including repairs scheduled to start tomorrow, 15 July 2025 to ensure continued water quality.
This, therefore, requires the city to dispatch water tankers as a temporality relief measure to the affected areas.
To maintain the same Blue Drop quality in water supplied by the water tankers, the city’s Water Quality Section collects and tests water samples from all tankers before they are dispatched.
The City also welcome residents’ vigilance in reporting any irregular incidents involving water tankers contracted to the City, including selling of water.
Residents experiencing any water quality concern should contact the city’s Call Centre immediately at 0860 543 000.
NB: The Rand Water maintenance is scheduled from 05h00 on 15 July to 07h00 on 18 July 2025. It will affect Kempton Park, Germiston, Thembisa, Edenvale and Bedfordview.
