#Drop and Collect Service at Our Libraries
The City offers drop and collect service in all its libraries where community member can request to take out a book on line, telephonically or via email. Then it’s just a matter of collecting and dropping off when done reading.
The was guided by the directives issued by the National Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa to offer this service, and is provided in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable regulations. Library users are expected to adhere to the COVID-19 regulations, such as wearing of face masks and practising social distancing when dropping or collecting. All the books returned will be quarantines for seven days.
To be a part of the drop and collect service:
- Contact your nearest library through telephone or generic email – libraries@ekurhuleni.gov.za – and provide your name and surname, library membership number, library where you wish to collect and drop off and then the most important information – which book or material you want to take out.
- Librarians will prepare your request for collection. They can also check on the system which books or materials you haven’t read and make recommendations.
- A date and time will be arranged for you to make your collection and to drop off.
- No fines for books returned later than the agreed time at this stage, but remember there are other people interested in the same books.
People who wants to join the library to be allowed to register for the service can visit the help desk at their nearest library, and remember to take a long your ID and proof of residence.
