EKURHULENI INTRODUCES NEW WHATSAPP PAYMENT SYSTEM FOR TRAFFIC FINES

The City of Ekurhuleni has introduced its own traffic fine processing system.

This innovation means residents and road users of the City of Ekurhuleni (COE) will no longer be paying their traffic fines through the Pay City website as was the case.

The new system introduced by the municipality offers a convenient method for making payments via the City’s WhatsApp chatbot that is designed to enhance user experience and streamline the payment process.

The straightforward step-by-step process is currently running and ready to process the payment of fines.

Using the COE WhatsApp chatbot number 060 667 7177 motorists are encouraged to follow the simple steps below to pay their fines:

  • Start a conversation by saying “Hi”;
  • A response message will provide a list of services to choose from;
  • Select Option 5 (View Notices);
  • The chatbot will then request you to insert either your RSA ID number/ or the Notice number;
  • You will then be presented with an Active Fine List of all your fines and prompted to select a fine you wish to pay;
  • A link will then follow; and
  • Click on the link, then follow the prompts to complete your payment.

Alternatively, road users can walk-in at any of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) offices, listed below, to make payments during working hours on Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 15:00. Debit card and cash payments are accepted.
