MMC for Water and Sanitation Tiisetso Nketle Thanks the Community of Brakpan for Patience during Water Supply Interruption

The City of Ekurhuleni thanks residents and businesses in Brakpan for their patience during the recent water supply interruption which lasted just over 35 hours. The connection of water to the new Brakpan reservoir has now been completed.

The construction of the Brakpan Reservoir is an attempt by the City to ensure it delivers on its mandate and promise to render safe and reliable clean water in support of the industries and communities of this City.

MMC for Water and Sanitation Cllr Tiisetso Nketle thanked the technical teams that have worked around the clock to keep to the anticipated time frames to finalise the connection of water.

“We had put 15h00 today as our targeted time and our technicians have delivered at the exact time,” she said.

“We are grateful to our businesses, residents and other stakeholders who showed understanding and patience while work was going on. Together we can truly achieve more,” Nketle added.

The job has been successfully completed and water is running smoothly in all areas of Brakpan. Should anyone experience any glitches they are requested to report it to the call centre.

The City thanks customers for making full use of the water supplied through water tankers that were dispatched and located at various dedicated places within the communities.
