Partial Opening of Libraries
In an attempt to assist students who are preparing for their exams, the City has since extended operating hours of the Vosloorus and Daveyton libraries to 21h00 on weekdays.
Due to Covid-19 level 1 regulations, some libraries remain closed and those that are open only offer limited services to walk in students wanting to study.
Limited students are allowed into the libraries so as to ensure proper social distancing. Only two slots are available week days from 09h00 – 12h00 and 14h00 – 16h00, while only Daveyton and Vosloorus are open until 21h00.
Unfortunately, due to the logistics and exposure NO computer facilities can be used.
No entry is allowed without a mask and temperature is taken at the entrance and the necessary sanitising done.

Avid readers can still do so as the libraries offer a Drop and Collect system. It’s easy. Contact the library and request your selection of books. Librarians will put them together ready for collection at a pre-arranged time. All the books returned will be put in quarantine for at least seven days.
