Potholes, Grass and Trees Targeted in Bedfordview
The City of Ekurhuleni service departments visited Bedfordview on Tuesday, 9 February, to clear service backlogs.
This is part of the Vuselela Service Delivery Campaign aimed at eliminating service delivery interruptions across the City. The Bedfordview backlog included patching of potholes, road markings, pruning of trees and grass cutting.
The backlog was exacerbated by the recent rains experienced across the City over the past weeks.
Acting Divisional Head for Operations, Isaac Bangilizwe said that the campaign will visit other areas to attend to service delivery interruption hotspots and address backlogs.
“We are experiencing backlogs due to the COVID-19 among other things. Most departments are working on reduced staff due to health-related issues.
“The recent rains also did not make things easier. This is not an isolated case, that is the reason we will go across the City to clear the backlogs,” Bangilizwe said.
