Power Supply is Gradually Being Restored to Industries in Springs
The City’s technicians are working around the clock to gradually connect all industries back onto the Springs JVA substation grid, which supplies other substations in the area.
A temporary subsubstation had to be built after a fire plunged the area into darkness.
The process of swinging the 22kv cables into the Ring Main Unit (RMU) is complete. As of Sunday, 1 March, New Era and Maksal substations were reconnected, while the Pollak Park substation was energized.
Currently, technicians are phasing cables from the RMUs directly into the customers’ substations. Pollak Park and Mondi substations phasing process is still outstanding. Once the phasing process is completed, all customers will be reconnected.
