REGISTER ON THE CITY’S SELF-SERVICE METER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR CONVENIENT BILLING

The City of Ekurhuleni encourages customers to register on our convenient self-service water meter management system to capture their readings from home for accurate, up-to-date and not estimated billing.

Through the #MyCOE App, residents can now easily manage their meter readings and upload the images directly for submission. After submission, residents receive a confirmation notification for peace of mind.

When it is time for submission, the system automatically sends reminders to customers, ensuring that residents stay informed and engaged with their utility management.

The self-service system comes with various benefits for both residents and city management.

  • Eliminating interim/ estimated meter readings: Residents can now provide accurate readings directly, improving billing accuracy.
  • Elimination of data duplication: The modernized process reduces the chances of data duplication and ensures that the readings are correctly recorded.
  • Self-capture of accurate readings: Residents can manage their readings, leading to more accurate and timely submissions.
  • Photo upload for Audit and Confirmation: Uploading images of your meter readings serves as a verification tool that enhances the credibility of the readings submitted.
  • GPS coordinates for Accurate Linking: GPS coordinates through their phones, help ensure the accurate location of the meter linked to the resident’s account.
  • Consistency Across Customer Care Centres: This system establishes a consistent process across various Customer Care Centres, improving service delivery.
  • Alternative Options for Non-Smartphone Users: The city offers alternative methods for residents without smartphones. They can visit a local Customer Care Centre or authorize a city-appointed meter reader to access their property and submit readings on their behalf.

Support and assistance: Residents requiring assistance with the new system can contact the Siyakhokha Call Centre at 011 999 5102 or via email at Siyakhokha@ekurhuleni.gov.za. The support team is available Monday to Friday from 08h00 to 13h00.

The city’s self-service meter management system represents a significant step forward in customer service and operational efficiency.

Customers can also manage their water bills by ensuring no internal water leaks in their properties. Leaks that may look insignificant may amount to excessive volumes of lost water, thus increasing your bill.
