City Ensures Safety of Pedestrians and Motorists by Marking the Roads

Ebbe Road in Birchleigh was marked with new road signs by the City’s Department of Roads and Stormwater this week.

Marking the road is part of promoting road safety. The City is an economic hub of Gauteng due to its high concentration of industries and its significance to transportation of goods and people.

Lethabo Ramaila (24) uses Ebbe Road daily to go to work, and has applauded the City for reviving the faded road marks. “It was difficult and unsafe to drive on this road as the road markings were not clearly visible,” Ramaila said.

These road markings provide valuable information to drivers and other road users. They represent rules that are in place to keep road users safe, and help to communicate messages to drivers and pedestrians so as to maintain order and reduce accidents.
