ROAD MAINTENANCE IN FULL SWING ACROSS EKURHULENI
The City of Ekurhuleni has hit the ground running to conduct critical maintenance on identified industrial and main roads following the passing of the Adjustment Budget by Council recently.
The adjustment budget has availed an additional R2.9 million to be used for road rehabilitation until the end of June 2023. The maintenance of main and industrial roads started in earnest this month and will remain intense until the end of the financial year in June.
The budget will be dedicated to road maintenance as identified by the City and part of it will also go to ad-hoc road-related issues reported by members of the public through the City’s call centre and digital media platforms. Below is the maintenance programme per region:
The Eastern region sees the following roads receiving attention:
- Benoni – Uys, Liverpool, Lancet, Voortrekker and Great North roads.
- Brakpan – Geluksdal, Springs, Ndabezitha, Ergo and Airport Drive roads.
- Nigel – Nigel-Springs, Nigel, and Mandela streets.
- Springs – Ermelo and Dahlia roads.
In the Southern region:
- Alberton – Moepel, Khumalo and Hospital roads
- Boksburg – Drakensberg, Power, Trichardt and van Dyk roads
