The City Responds to Blocked Stormwater Manhole in Norkem Park
John Phalane, a resident of Norkem Park, was one happy man following the clearing of a stormwater manhole by the City.
The blocked stormwater manhole in Mooirivier Road was blocked from underneath the surface, and as a result water was flowing to nearby residences.
“The water was flowing to my house and I was so confused because I didn’t know where it was coming from. I then reported it to the City and now it has been resolved,” said a happy Phalane.
According to the City’s Roads and Stormwater Department, with rainy season upon us all stormwater channels and manholes need to be cleared to reduce chances of flooding.
The City encourages residents to report all stormwater issues or other service delivery issues through the My CoE App or call centre on 0860 543 000 / call.centre@ekurhuleni.gov.za
