Thembisa Licensing Hub Opens Its Door to the Public

As from 8 March the Thembisa Licensing Hub opened its doors to service the public.

This facility boast a comprehensive and ground-breaking basket of services for prospective learner drivers as well as owners of motor vehicles in the area.

The facility is a first of its kind in Ekurhuleni as it is a one-stop-shop that will offer all services ranging from motor vehicle registration, learner and driver’s licence as well as motor vehicle testing centre in one yard.

“We are happy that the hub has now opened its doors for services to the public rendering an array of service. If members of the public wish to renew licences for their vehicles, register vehicles, change ownership of vehicles, deregister vehicles, change personal details of vehicles and apply for Business Registration Numbers and Traffic Register Certificates, they can now come to the hub for full assistance,” said Frans Mmoko, Member of Mayoral Committee for Community Safety in the City of Ekurhuleni.

“Our approach to rendering a full bouquet of services at the facility will come in phases as we prepare other logistics required to fully run all services in the hub.

“From 1 April 2021 we will start to offer learner’s and driver’s licence services for those who wish to be tested in this facility.

“We want to ensure that by October 2021 we have a hub that will be offering full services to the public. By this time we have planned to have our Vehicle Testing Station fully operational for local motorists who wish to have their vehicles tested on our ground,” concluded Mmoko.
