CITY DISTANCES ITSELF FROM REIGER PARK HARAMBEE BUS RAPID TRANSPORT CLAIMS

The Department of Roads and Transport Management in the City of Ekurhuleni wishes to distance itself from the misinformation in the social media regarding the Harambee Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) service extending to Reiger Park soon.

The department, through its Integrated Public Transport Network (IPTN) Unit, seeks to clarify that the information peddled in the social media space is devoid of the truth and is misleading.

The city assures the community that it prioritizes transparency, stakeholder management and public participation in handling of projects and therefore would not implement any huge project that may have an impact on society without engaging with the necessary stakeholders and affected communities – particularly those within the transport industry.

The city encourages residents to, at all times, rely on official city communication channels for accurate information and updates regarding the Harambee BRT service and other transport initiatives.
