Harambee BRT Resumes Service after Temporary Suspension

Harambee BRT services will resume today after a temporary suspension that came as a result of a community protest in Thembisa yesterday. The suspension of the bus service has left commuters in the area stranded.

The Member of Mayoral Committee for Transport and Fleet Management Cllr Phelisa Nkunjana said “The City of Ekurhuleni is pleased to inform commuters of the resumption of bus services in Thembisa and Kempton Park from 3pm this afternoon.

“After yesterday’s community protest we have decided to temporarily suspend the Harambee BRT service, concerned about the safety of our commuters and bus drivers.

“We would like to apologise for the inconvenience this suspension might have caused to our commuters”.
