Upgraded 60MVA Transformer to Boost Power Supply to Springs Industries
Work is ongoing to restore stability to the Springs JVA Sub-Station following a devastating fire that burnt the entire electrical infrastructure in February 2019.
The City has procured new switchgear panels and upgraded the 60MVA transformer both to the value of almost R40 million.
Another 45MVA transformer is expected to be delivered at the end of May 2021.
The entire new and upgraded electrical infrastructure will help boost and stabilize power supply to customers in the Springs industries and surrounding areas.
The city wishes to apologize for the inconvenience caused while the work is still ongoing at the Springs JVA Sub-Station.
