
RESTORATION OF WASTE REMOVAL SERVICES IN DAVEYTON AND ETWATWA UNDERWAY
Waste removal services has been fully restored in Daveyton and Etwatwa after prolonged interruptions.
Round refuse collection will be rendered as per the refuse collection calendar days. Customers are advised to adhere to the calendar.
Meanwhile, services such as litter picking and street sweeping services on main routes and CBDs, including around schools will be done as per the normal schedule and additional personnel will be deployed to the affected areas to increase efficiency.
The removal of illegally dumped waste will be done by attending to the most affected areas including waste dumped around public areas such as islands on main roads and open spaces.
Additionally, the bulk refuse container services will be rendered according to the agreed frequencies to the businesses, while ad-hoc bulk container services will be rendered to residents and businesses on request.
The waste removal recovery services listed below will continue over the weekends:
- Litter picking;
- Street sweeping; and
- Illegal dumping.
The city apologizes for the inconvenience this has caused and continuously pleads for patience while work to address the backlog is ongoing.
